Spencer Ware’s Workload

Kansas City Chiefs football is almost synonymous with running the football.  It’s just what we seem to do.  That tradition has been near its peak with Jamaal Charles on the team.  However, it appears that fourth year back Spencer Ware is now ready to carry the torch.  Ware is currently on pace for 2000+ total yards.  He should continue that trend this week.

Andy Reid has not implemented the offense that Chiefs fans expected when he first came to town.  Instead, Reid has adapted to running the ball more.  In 2016, Spencer Ware has become the focal point of the Chiefs running game.  That’s probably for a good reason.  The Kansas City Chiefs are 9-0 (1-0 in the playoffs) when Spencer Ware finds the endzone.

So while many Chiefs fans and pundits are licking their chops over facing the Colts secondary, I’m over here screaming: “RUN THE BALL!!!”  If Spencer Ware has 20 touches or more on Sunday, I’m predicting that this will be an easy Chiefs victory.
