Good: Alex Smith

Alex Smith has done what he’s supposed to do the last two weeks against bad defenses – Not make stupid mistakes. He went 17 of 24 for 214 yards and two touchdown passes.

While Smith struggled early on this season, he’s slowly starting to come into his own. He looked comfortable throughout this game and even threw the ball down the field a few times.

One of Smith’s best passes I’ve ever seen was his gem to Tyreek Hill in the second quarter.

People have faulted Smith for his inability to throw down the field, but he had some nice attempts on Sunday. His pass to Chris Conley late in the fourth quarter on a third and 17 was a tremendous pass, and it’s been nice to see Smith flourish in these last two games.
