Number Five: Carolina Panthers

The Kansas City Chiefs will be traveling to Charlotte later this season to play the Carolina Panthers.  However, the two teams may have some business before then.  The Panthers lost running back Jonathan Stewart for an undetermined period of time this week.  At the least, Stewart will miss this upcoming game.

Knile Davis seems like an ideal replacement for Jonathan Stewart.  The two players have a similar build and running style.  Stewart is thicker, but Davis is faster.  However, the real kicker here is that Stewart has a bit of an injury history.  That may have the leadership in Carolina a little wary about him over the course of the remaining season.

Unfortunately, teams don’t like to make trades with future opponents.  It is a common tactic for teams to sign castoffs of their upcoming opponents to the Practice Squad.  This gives them an insider to the opposing gameplan.  The Chiefs likely won’t want to give that kind of an advantage over to Carolina willingly.
