Oakland Raider

Last Match-Up: Chiefs 23 – Raiders 17 (2015: Week 17)

After what will be a much needed “Bye” week, the Kansas City Chiefs will be back on the road to take on division rival, the Oakland Raiders.  This will be an especially important game because it is a division match up early in the season.  The Chiefs will have an opportunity to give themselves a huge advantage in the AFC West.

Of course, the Raiders will have something to say about that.  Many pundits believe that this Oakland squad is bound for the playoffs.  Some even say the Raiders will win the AFC West.  I disagree with that, but Oakland is a talented team and will be a tough out.  However, the Chiefs should be well rested at this point, and Andy Reid has a great record coming off of “Bye” weeks.

If Week 1 is any indicator, the Chiefs should be able to move the ball pretty well against the Raiders.  Especially, through the air as Oakland has not appeared to be well situated in the secondary.  That is a bit of a surprise after the team picked up former Chiefs corner, Sean Smith.  If the Chiefs can throw the ball against Oakland, they should be able to put this game away easily.
