Young Corners Must Shine

The KC Chiefs took a few cornerbacks in the 2016 draft. So far not many have stepped up. In fact, Kansas City acquired a corner from San Francisco during the Bears game on Saturday.

Acker’s played in 15 games and started 13 for the San Francisco 49ers last season. He accumulated three interceptions, eight defended passes and 53 tackles. He is still young at only 23-years-old. The KC Chiefs might have gotten a steal here.

The Chiefs lost a valuable corner, Sean Smith, to the Oakland Raiders this off-season.  KC needs a young guy to step up outside of second year pro, Marcus Peters. So far not many young guys have looked that impressive during the preseason.

D.J. White has flashed a few times in tight man on man coverage.

Keivarae Russell and D.J. White should see plenty of playing time against the Packers. The two have talent put need to show it against the Green Bay to ensure a roster spot.

The Kansas Chiefs have a lot of good players they will have to cut or trade due to the depth on the roster. I don’t think either will be cut but they need to play well against the Packers to give Andy Reid and company an idea of what they have in them.
