Best Wildcats to Play in the NFL – Number 10: Darren Howard

NFL defensive end from 2000-2009

Darren Howard spent the 1999 season with the K-State football program and was a second round draft pick by the New Orleans Saints in the 2000 NFL Draft. He went on to play for ten years in the pros.

Howard was with the Saints for six years and then signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2006. He started all 16 games four times during his decade long career, and recorded 262 tackles during that time.

Darren Howard also had 67 sacks, including 11 during his rookie year in 2000. He also recorded 11 sacks in 2004 and ten in 2008, the second to last season of his pro career. He had three career interceptions.

Howard comes in at number ten on this list due to his long career in the pros and his ability to make big plays late into his career.
