Best Wildcats to Play in the NFL – Honorable Mention: Ben Leber

NFL linebacker from 2002-2011

Ben Leber entered the 2002 NFL Draft coming off a first-team All-Big 12 season for the Wildcats. He wound up as a third round selection by the San Diego Chargers and spent four seasons with the Bolts.

Leber’s stats weren’t mind blowing, but he was a consistent starter for his teams while in the NFL. He spent his first four seasons in San Diego and also spent time with the Vikings (five seasons) and the Rams (one season).

Leber ended his nine-year career with 393 tackles, 24 sacks, and five interceptions. Again, not mind blowing, but he was a reliable veteran for whatever team he was playing for.

I included Ben Leber as an honorable mention because I don’t think he was better than the tenth guy on this list, but he deserved to be mentioned as one of the best Kansas State Wildcats to play in the NFL.
