Kansas City Chiefs: First Depth Chart Breakdown – Defense

SS – Eric Berry, Daniel Sorensen, Eric Murray, Shak Randolph, Jeron Johnson
It’s not surprising, but the Kansas City Chiefs are listing Eric Berry as the starter even though he isn’t technically on the team right now. In his place Daniel Sorensen has been getting the starting reps in camp with Eric Murray as the top backup. Veteran Jeron Johnson was signed late this offseason, so he may have an opportunity to improve his stock with the team.
The Chiefs have been assured that Eric Berry will play this year, so there’s little concern there. There could/should be some competition between Daniel Sorensen and Eric Murray, with Jeron Johnson possibly getting involved as well. Shak Randolph seems to be a likely first cut for the Chiefs.
