Fantasy Football Sleepers to Target in 2016 – Number 6: Coby Fleener

Coby Fleener was an underrated signing this offseason by the New Orleans Saints. He disappointed while with the Colts for the first four seasons of his career, but I expect him to have the best season of his career in the Big Easy.

With a new team and a new outlook, Fleener is worth drafting as a backup tight end.

For one, Fleener is going to have Drew Brees as his quarterback. Brees LOVES throwing to his tight ends and with a target as big as Fleener, it’d be difficult to see why this pairing wouldn’t light up the scoreboards.

Fleener is a sleeper because he hasn’t done much in the pros so far. He was drafted to be Indy’s big time tight end, but never could hold onto the starting job there.

With a new team and a new outlook, Fleener is worth drafting as a backup tight end. He’s not going to be better than Gronkowski, Olsen, or even Kelce, but he’ll be a solid addition to your team in case your starter is injured.

Fleener had two weeks with 14 points last season (the most he had) and he’s been a letdown before, but he’ll likely be Brees’ go-to guy in New Orleans this season. He should be able to put up at least 100 points for your team this year.
