Kansas City Chiefs Players On The Roster Bubble – Number Seven: Laurent Duvernay-Tardif

When the Kansas City Chiefs re-signed Jah Reid this offseason, it was largely assumed he would go back to right tackle…then the team also signed Mitchell Schwartz, who many consider the best right tackle in the NFL.  That means Reid will most likely be competing at right guard.  This puts Larry Tardif on notice.

Tardif has had some struggles on the field.  He shows some talent and promise, but still seems a long way from putting it together.  There’s also a question of how much Tardif even wants to play in the NFL.  As he continues to pursue his studies in medical school, one has to wonder if he actually considers football a career, or just a means to get to something else.

For Larry Tardif to make this roster, he’s going to have to show his commitment to football.  If he has put in the work in the offseason, it should show now when he’s competing for his future.  As I mentioned, he has the talent and promise.  This is all about his willingness to apply himself.
