Kansas City Chiefs Players On The Roster Bubble – Number Six: Tyler Bray
The Kansas City Chiefs backup quarterback job had been held by Chase Daniel for the last three years. With his heading to the Eagles, there is now an open competition to succeed him. Currently there are three candidates fighting it out for essentially two spots: Tyler Bray, Aaron Murray, and Kevin Hogan.
Tyler Bray has been with the team for several years without gaining any meaningful playing time. That puts him firmly on the bubble. However, Bray was first up in the competition during OTAs. While that was reportedly due to tenure only, he’s now back at the helm after Aaron Murray got a shot. That would suggest Bray is the front-runner at this time
Tyler Bray’s path to making the roster is to not give the Chiefs any reason to look beyond him. As long as he is holding the #2 position on the roster, neither Aaron Murray or Kevin Hogan can make their own cases for getting the job. With the Chiefs going back to Bray at the end of OTAs, he is in a strong position to do just that.
