Third Toughest Defense in 2016 – New York Jets

Early on in the season, the Chiefs will have their work cut out for them when it comes to facing tough defenses, as they’ll host the New York Jets in week three.

If they get their quarterback situation figured out, they could be a legit contender in the AFC.

The Jets might be having all kinds of problems with finding a quarterback, but their defense should still be one of the best in the entire league this year. They re-signed Muhammad Wilkerson, arguably their biggest star, and also have guys like Sheldon Richardson and Leonard Williams.

The Jets usually are more of a defensive team, making it all the way to the AFC Championship in the 2009 and 2010 seasons, mainly due to their defensive efforts.

New York barely missed out on the playoffs last year, but if they get their quarterback situation figured out (i.e. sign Ryan Fitzpatrick since he’s the best for the job right now), they could be a legit contender in the AFC.

Hell, with Tom Brady missing the first four games of the season, the Jets could finally win the AFC East. They have the defense to do it, and their defense could give the Chiefs fits all day long.
