Devon Travis: ADP – Undrafted

Devon Travis may be ready to go even sooner than Zack Wheeler as he’s expected back in late May or early June. While it would be nice to see a full season of production from this second baseman, he put up a lot of production last season in very few at-bats.

In a season marred by numerous injuries, Travis put up a slash line of .304/.361/.498 in only 217 at-bats. He also had eight home runs, 18 doubles, and 35 RBIs in that span.

If he can put up those kinds of numbers across around 350 at-bats, that projects to 29 doubles and 13 home runs. It also means around 56 RBIs which isn’t bad for half a season of work.

He’s in a lineup that is going to score runs in bunches so he’s going to have plenty of opportunities to score runs and drive them in.

Don’t worry too much about his production after coming back from the injury either. Before he got shut down for the season last year, he slashed .368/.421/.500 in his final month of play.

If the Blue Jays’ offensive production is as potent this season as they were in 2015, Devon Travis could wind up being one of the best second basemen in the league even in a short season.
