The Ugly: Defense

Yikes.

The Kansas State defense couldn’t stop much on Saturday. They allowed Brandon Allen to complete all but six of his passes for 315 yards and one touchdown. While the interception against him was huge, they didn’t have a whole lot of success at stopping him after that.

  • The Razorback receivers had themselves a day, with three having over 80 yards receiving. Star tight end Hunter Henry had a whopping 92 yards off of only five receptions, Drew Morgan had 92 yards off of eight receptions, and Jeremy Sprinkle had four receptions for 81 yards.

As for the Arkansas run game, I mentioned on the last slide how well that went. The Razorbacks had 254 yards on the ground and five touchdowns. FIVE RUSHING TOUCHDOWNS!

Three of those came from Alex Collins, who ended the day with 23 carries for 185 yards and yeah… The three touchdowns.

It’s been a rough year for the Kansas State defense and this game certainly showcased that. Let’s hope next season that we’ll see a resurgence of the old K-State defense.
