The Bad: Run Game

There were a lot of areas that could have been classified as “Bad” in this game, but let’s go with the run game.

The K-State run game, which had its ups and downs this season, only accounted for 79 total yards on 22 carries. When you compare that with Arkansas’ 254 yards on the ground, you can probably understand why the Wildcats lost as bad as they did in this one.

Hopefully this was just one bad performance, and not something that will occur often in 2016.

Charles Jones, the team’s best back, only had six carries for 40 yards while quarterback Kody Cook took the ball himself 12 times for 19 yards.

The run game wasn’t working on Saturday, and it showed. Winston Dimel only had one carry, which went for a touchdown early on in the game.

One notable thing about former starting quarterback Joe Hubener, was that he was very good at attacking the defense with his legs. Hubener was great in the run game while starting for the Wildcats and if his legs were on for the day, so was the rest of the team.

That was missing against Arkansas on Saturday.

Hopefully this was just one bad performance, and not something that will occur often in 2016.
