I honestly can’t think of a reason why you shouldn’t target Travis Kelce in the earlier rounds. This guy has it all: size, strength, speed, and soft hands.

Currently, there is a war between myself and one of the editors of this page about who is going to pick Kelce in our fantasy football league this year. If he’s available in the second round, there’s a good chance I may take him then. We’ll see.

Getting back on track, there are tons of reasons why you should draft Travis Kelce.

This guy can take a five-yard drag route and, with a simple side step, turn it into a 30-yard gain. This kind of player is one you definitely want on your team.

Let’s start with the fact that Kelce caught 67 passes for 862 yards and 5 touchdowns last season, per his NFL.com profile. Tight ends used to not be able to rack up yards like that. Putting Kelce on your roster gives you a wide receiver-like body to score you points.

Still having doubt (for some unearthly reason)? How about we look at the fact that the Chiefs parted ways with former starting tight end, Anthony Fasano, per ESPN.

That fact alone means that Kelce could be monster point-scorer for your fantasy team. This guy can take a five-yard drag route and, with a simple side step, turn it into a 30-yard gain. This kind of player is one you definitely want on your team.

I know that the Chiefs have been known as a run-first offense for years. However, the combination of receivers that Kansas City currently has gives me hope that they will start to throw it down the field more and take the pressure off of the running game.

Look for Kelce to pretty much lead the Chiefs’ 2015 aerial attack.

Draft him. Maybe not in the first round but definitely in the second or third rounds. I doubt he makes it past the third round in most fantasy leagues.
