NUMBER 5: PITTSBURGH STEELERS

WHERE: Heinz Field, Pittsburgh PA

The last time the Chiefs played in Pittsburgh during the regular season, was on Monday Night Football in 2012. The game went into over time, where eventually Matt Cassel threw the game ending interception and the Steelers won by a field goal. Before that game, Pittsburgh traveled to Kansas City on Sunday Night Football in 2011, where also, the game was lost by an interception thrown by a Chiefs quarterback. It was Tyler Palko that time.

The reason I put this in the top five is because, one, it’s on the road and two, Pittsburgh is always a tough team to play. The Steelers are returning future hall of fame safety, Troy Polamalu, and many others that anchor a solid- not great- but solid Steelers defense. They also have Ben Roethlisberger who is still one of the better playmakers at the quarterback position.

Kansas City has to play Pittsburgh because they finished second in their division, as did the Chiefs in the west, making them non common opponents in 2014. This game will certainly be tough, and for some reason, the NFL has loved putting these two teams in prime-time when they’ve met the past few times. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
