One play. That’s all West Virginia needed to pull off their second massive upset of the season Saturday night against Texas. Not turning the ball over five times would have gone a long way towards beating Texas.

Fortunately for West Virginia, a bowl game is still in play in the final three weeks of the season. A road trip to Lawrence and a home game against Iowa State sets up perfectly for the Mountaineers, who need two wins to become bowl eligible. Stealing a bowl game berth this season would be huge for a team that has lost so much talent this season.

First, they’re going to need to beat Kansas on the road. WVU is 1-4 on the road this season, with the one win coming in overtime against TCU. Kansas is in desperation mode for a conference win, so this game won’t be easy if WVU lets Kansas hang around.
