TEAMS IN LIMBO
16. Chicago Bears
Record: 4-3
Previous Ranking: 9
Down goes Jay Cutler and what terrible timing. Chicago’s next three games are against Green Bay, Detroit, and Baltimore. Their season may be lost in the next three weeks.
15. San Diego Chargers
Record: 4-3
Previous Ranking: 17
San Diego’s schedule is a monster in the second half: Denver (2x), Kansas City (2x) at Washington, Cincinnati, and at Miami are all involved.
14. New York Jets
Record: 4-3
Previous Ranking: 20
Jets are in the mix for the second wild card spot in the AFC. Huge win over New England keeps them in that race.
13. Baltimore Ravens
Record: 3-4
Previous Ranking: 12
Baltimore has lost three of their last four including a bad loss to Pittsburgh. Bye week could not have come at a better time.
12. Carolina Panthers
Record: 3-3
Previous Ranking: 23
Carolina has won their last two games 65-25 and have the NFL’s second best scoring defense. Beat Tampa and Atlanta the next two weeks and Carolina is sitting in a good spot at the midway point of the season.
11. Detroit Lions
Record: 4-3
Previous Ranking: 8
With Jay Cutler being down and all the injuries to the Packers, this is the time for the Lions to make their move. Dallas, Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Tampa Bay are on top.
10. Dallas Cowboys
Record: 4-3
Previous Ranking: 13
Cowboys are 4-1 against teams not named “Chiefs” or “Broncos” and they lost to those two teams by a combined four points. We may be underselling how good Dallas is.
