The NFL regular season has ended, and the playoffs have been scheduled. Coaches often get terminated the day after the regular season, and the NFL releases the opponents for each team in the following year.  The Kansas City Chiefs had a very difficult schedule in 2021-22 as they always face their division the AFC West twice. Also, this year the Chiefs drew the AFC North having to play the Cincinnati Bengals, the Baltimore Ravens, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Cleveland Browns. Kansas City also played the NFC East, which is the Dallas Cowboys, the Washington Football Team, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the New York Giants.

The schedule was configured to have some challenging road games, and tough opponents back-to-back. KC managed to obtain the No. 2 seed in the AFC off of this challenging schedule. The question is, what do the 2022-23 opponents look like?

The Home Games for the Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs will play the AFC West opponents at home. Depending on where these teams fall on the schedule can always make for a tough season. Kansas City will also play against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Tennessee Titans, the Los Angeles Rams, and the Seattle Seahawks. Both the Tennessee Titans and the Los Angeles Rams are in the playoffs this season and could be opponents for the Chiefs at some point within the playoffs.

The Jacksonville Jaguars and the Las Vegas Raiders are looking for new head coaches, and the Seattle Seahawks have yet to decide on Pete Carroll’s future. The hot stove is cooking again as the rumors of starting quarterback Russell Wilson wants out of Seattle. He has mentioned the New York Giants, the Denver Broncos, and New Orleans Saints as options. The point is, these games could look different when the 2022-23 season arrives.

The Away Games for the Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs will go on the road and take on the AFC West. As stated above depending on where these games are placed within the schedule, could create a tough stretch of games. Kansas City will visit the Houston Texans, the Indianapolis Colts, the San Francisco 49ers, the Arizona Cardinals, the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Kansas City will go on the road in back-to-back years to take on the Bengals inside Paul Brown Stadium. In 2021-22, Kansas City traveled to Cincinnati in a huge matchup between the Bengals for playoff seeding. KC would fall to the Bengals 34-31 on a last-second field goal. Not only would Kansas City lose the game, but they would lose the No. 1 overall seed to the Tennessee Titans.

KC will also play inside Raymond James Stadium again, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In the 2020-21 season, the Chiefs traveled to Tampa Bay in Week 12 and would win 27-24, giving the Chiefs a record of 10-1. The Chiefs would return to Raymond James Stadium that same season in Super Bowl LV. They would lose 31-9 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Kansas City Chiefs Will Have a Tough Schedule?

The Kansas City Chiefs will have another challenging schedule. There will be plenty of variables that could sway the meter one way or the other such as the hiring of head coaches , free agents signings, trades, and draft picks. The name on the jersey is not the intimidating factor but who is wearing it. Once the full schedule is released, an updated article will be written to coincide with this one.
