Safeties for KC Chiefs to Target: Tre Boston

Last, but not least, the Chiefs should consider signing Tre Boston. The 28-year-old safety was recently released by the Panthers and could provide a nice third option at the safety position.

Boston isn’t the same player he once was, but he still packs a punch. Last season saw him haul in one interception and record a sack for the Panthers. He was released to help shore up cap space in Carolina and could be a really useful option for Kansas City.

The Chiefs have Mathieu and Thornhill as their two main safeties, so Boston would be filling in for what Sorensen used to provide. If the Chiefs could get him on the cheap, Boston would be worth a gamble.

It’s important for the Kansas City Chiefs to find a third safety this offseason. Whether that comes in the draft or in free agency, it’s an important position to fill this spring.

One of these four options could be intriguing. Sorensen is already familiar with what the Chiefs implement on defense, Hooker and Neal are two players with the injury-prone tag slapped to them, and Boston was released because his team wanted to save some cash.
