The KC Chiefs should make Carolina’s Taylor Moton their primary free-agent target this year.

If a team is going to spend to get a free agent offensive lineman, it’s a good idea to spend to get a good one. Moton is the best right tackle on the market and would make a world of sense for the Chiefs. They need to get younger, and while he doesn’t answer the question on the left side, shoring up the right side is almost just as important.

While I don’t know that anyone will confuse Moton as the next coming of Boselli, Ogden, or Pace, he certainly is good enough for what the Chiefs need. He is young and durable and with the hope of coming into a winning culture and locker room, the best for him would be in Chiefs red.

Regardless, expect free agency, and not the draft, to be the spot where the Chiefs address a majority of their offensive line concerns. Maybe it’s just me, I just can’t imagine the organization wanting to entrust both tackle spots to unproven players.

Get a really good tackle, even if it’s the right side. It will help. Hopefully next year, it’s the strength in the Super Bowl and not the biggest weakness.
