KC Chiefs vs Bucs in Super Bowl LV – What to Watch: Protecting Mahomes

A scary sight in the game against the Bills was watching Eric Fisher go down with an injury that is keeping him out of the Super Bowl. This is a big concern because protecting Mahomes is a priority.

Luckily, the Chiefs have proved that they can make any offensive line work and they will be starting Mike Remmers at left tackle to replace Fisher. Thanks to Mahomes’ mobility and the improv skills of Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill, the Chiefs offense can handle pressure. Mahomes is actually the best player under pressure, especially the blitz.

These facts are very reassuring, as Mahomes will face a lot of pressure against the Bucs defensive line. Jason Pierre-Paul and Ndamukong Suh have the ability to get plenty of pressure against opposing teams. They even proved this in the NFC Championship against the Packers, as they were able to sack Rodgers five times and pressure him even more with a few quarterback hits.

This was a critical part of their win against Green Bay and could be the difference in their chances to keep Mahomes from making big plays downfield.
