2. Super Bowl defense is back

People were writing off the Chiefs defense after a lackluster performance in Los Angeles last week, but man, they shut those people up this week. They had a rough first drive, allowing Baltimore to march down the field, but they held them to a field goal, which was a huge accomplishment.

What impressed me the most with this group was how well they did against the Ravens rushing attack. If you subtract the 83 yards that Jackson had on the ground, the Ravens running backs totaled just 75 yards and didn’t find the end zone once. Mike Pennel returning to the lineup had something to do with that I’m sure, but it was nice to see Anthony Hitchens and Damien Wilson get compliments from the broadcasting crew.

Jackson was sacked four times and looked frustrated all night and that’s all thanks to Chris Jones and Frank Clark, who totaled three of those four sacks (Ben Niemann got the other one – Yeah, it was one of those nights for this D).

If the Chiefs want to be a Super Bowl contender again this year, this is the defense we need to see on a weekly basis. This defense went into Baltimore and slowed down the most lethal offense in the league and that’s proof that they can absolutely win another Super Bowl.
