Toughest Running Backs in 2020 – Number 2: Josh Jacobs

Las Vegas Raiders. Josh Jacobs. 2. player. 28. . Running Back

It’s hard to rank the Raiders positively in anything, but Josh Jacobs is a beast and I couldn’t omit him from this list. The 2019 first round pick had a sensational rookie season, carrying the ball 242 times for 1,150 yards and seven touchdowns.

He wasn’t utilized a ton in the receiving game, recording just 20 catches for 166 yards and zero touchdowns. Even still, the guy was a tremendous talent in the run game and is going to do great things for the Raiders during their first year in Las Vegas.

Jacobs did incredibly well against the Chiefs last season in both of his games against them. In the first match-up, which was the epic second quarter explosion from the Chiefs, Jacobs had 12 carries for 99 yards. In the second game, which was a 40-9 blowout win by the Chiefs, Jacobs had 17 carries for 104 yards. He’d probably have totaled a heck of a lot more yards had the Raiders not had to transition into more of a passing game.

This season, Jacobs and his Raiders will face the Chiefs in weeks five (at Arrowhead) and 11 (in Las Vegas) and he’ll definitely be looking to make it three and four straight games of dominance against Kansas City.
