Fantasy Football Tight Ends to Target – Number 5: Mark Andrews

Tight End. Baltimore Ravens. Mark Andrews. 4. player. 26.

Mark Andrews of the Ravens finished as TE4 last season and he stays in that spot here. He is another tight end who led his team in receiving last year.

He didn’t dominate the targets as much as Waller nor did he post a 1000 yard season, but where he made up for that was in the end zone. He also lead his team in receiving touchdowns with 10.

Andrews versus Waller is a very tight debate because where Walker is due for a touchdown increase while Andrews is probably looking at a touchdown regression. Andrews does have some room to improve upon last years receiving yards total though and should continue to receive more targets as Lamar Jackson’s confidence as a passer grows.

The main deciding factor between these two in these rankings was just the overall offensive upside. The Ravens are the better offense so Andrews gets the slight edge. However, you can’t go wrong with either of these two elite tight ends.

Fantasy Football Tight Ends to Target – Number 3: Zach Ertz

player. 54. . Tight End. Philadelphia Eagles. Zach Ertz. 3

Zach Ertz is without a doubt one of the elite tight ends in the NFL and has been for sometime. It might seem weird to see him this high this season though. It seems like he is behind both Waller and Andrews in a lot of fantasy rankings, but here is why our rankings differ: target competition.

You’re probably of hearing that phrase by now, but it is one of the most important considerations to think about in fantasy football drafts.

While the target competition around Waller and Andrews is on the uprise, the targets around Ertz are depleting. Whether do to opt outs, injury, or potential suspensions Philadelphia’s receiving options are looking thin.

This leaves Ertz likely competing for the team lead in targets, at least early on, with rookie wide receiver Jalen Reagor. Ertz finished as TE5 last season and it is very possible that he gets upwards of 150+ targets and improves upon that fantasy finish in 2020.
