CHIEFS AT RAVENS – SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

While  I initially thought this game could simply be “America’s Game of the Week” therefore landing in the prime afternoon slot, it’d be tough not to have it as the Sunday night game.

No, we didn’t get to see the Chiefs battle the Ravens in the AFC Championship Game last year and while that meant KC got to host the title game, it was still a bummer missing out on Mahomes vs Lamar Jackson (the 2018 MVP vs 2019 MVP) in the biggest game of the season to that point.

These teams have faced off in each of the last two seasons with Kansas City winning both of those games. The first one took overtime for the Chiefs to knock off Baltimore – handing Jackson the only regular season loss of his rookie campaign.

The next season was a much more convincing win for Kansas City, but it’s worth noting that both of those games took place at Arrowhead Stadium. This time around, the game will be held in Baltimore, which obviously gives the Ravens the edge.

These were the two best teams in the AFC a season ago and neither really lost much depth from the end of 2019 until now. Also, if you compare their drafts position wise, they kept matching what the other team was addressing, which was probably coincidental, but I found interesting.

This one could end up being the Sunday afternoon game – in which case we won’t know until we’re actually heading into that week of the season – so for now, I’m penciling it in as a Sunday night game.
