KC Chiefs: Best 2019 single game performance for each position player
TYREEK HILL
- BEST PERFORMANCE: WEEK 10 VS TITANS (11 RECEPTIONS, 157 YARDS, TD)
- RUNNER-UP: WEEK 9 VS VIKINGS (6 RECEPTIONS, 140 YARDS, TD)
Despite missing four regular season games, Tyreek Hill still finished 2019 with respectable numbers and his two best showings came in back-to-back weeks. After going down in week one, Hill missed about a month of action, but it was clear in weeks nine and ten that he was back to being the dominant WR1 that Kansas City needed.
In week ten against the Titans, Hill grabbed 11 catches for 157 yards and a touchdown and the week prior – with Matt Moore as his quarterback nonetheless – he had six catches for 140 yards and a trip into the end zone. The Chiefs needed someone to step up that week with Mahomes out, and Hill did so beautifully.
Hill definitely had a few good games, but his week nine and ten performances were his two best from the 2019 season.
TRAVIS KELCE
- BEST PERFORMANCE: DIVISIONAL ROUND VS TEXANS (10 REC, 134 YDS, 3 TD)
- RUNNER-UP: WEEK 15 VS BRONCOS (11 REC, 142 YDS)
Like Hill, Travis Kelce had plenty of good outings to pick from, but no one should be surprised to see that I ultimately with the Divisional Round against Houston. In that game, Kelce exploded onto the scene with ten catches for 134 yards and three touchdowns. The Texans defense had no answer for him.
Speaking of not having an answer for Kelce, the Broncos defense continued to struggle against him in a snowy week 15 match-up at Arrowhead. The Chiefs tight end grabbed 11 catches for `142 yards and if Denver can pat themselves on the back for anything, it’s that they managed to keep Kelce out of the end zone for once.
It’s rare when Travis Kelce doesn’t have respectable games, but these were his two best of 2019. He did have another 100+ yard game in week two against the Raiders, but who didn’t put up massive numbers in that one?
