WHAT DID WE LEARN ABOUT THE RAIDERS?

The Oakland Raiders returned to the Black Hole for the first time since late September and got an impressive 31-24 victory over the Detroit Lions. Matt Patricia made some questionable decisions in this one (as did Jon Gruden), but at the end of the day, the Raiders earned this one and showed that maybe people underrated them this season.

Derek Carr is quietly having a nice season after having thrown for 289 yards and two touchdowns while only getting sacked once. Josh Jacobs was the star of the day, however, rushing for 120 yards and two touchdowns and proving to be worthy of that first round selection. Hunter Renfrow has been a good draft pick by Oakland too, as he now has touchdowns in back to back games and is one of Carr’s go-to guys.

The defense didn’t play great, allowing Matthew Stafford to throw for over 400 yards and three touchdowns, but they did get an interception off of him and also sacked him twice. The Raiders defense also limited the Detroit run game to under 100 yards. Two Lions receivers did go for over 100 yards, however, and that’s a big weakness for sure for this Raiders team.

This was a big time win for Oakland and now they have to host a hot team in the Chargers on a short week, as it’ll the Bolts in the Black Hole for Thursday Night Football.
