Sit of the Week – Running Back Adrian Peterson

Running Back. Washington Commanders. Adrian Peterson. 1. player. 58.

There could be some revenge game buzz circulating before game time regarding Adrian Peterson‘s health, but don’t buy into it. Peterson has not showed any signs of life this season and it hasn’t been for a lack of oppurtunity.

Derrius Guice got hurt early in the season and hasn’t seen the field since. He looks to be out another week, but his return is imminent and Peterson may go back to being a weekly inactive once he’s back. Chris Thompson was out last week and with turf toe, he will probably will out again, but Peterson still cannot be trusted.

The Vikings boast a pretty formidable run defense as well. Combine this with the fact that this has blowout potential written all over it, Peterson can stay on your bench as he rarely catches balls out of the backfield. He had 20 carries last week for a decent 4.1 yards per carry.

While the opportunity was there last week in rainy conditions, I sincerely doubt it will be there this week as the Redskins will pass early and often to stay with a Vikings team that put up 42 points.

If you have Peterson, sit him and if you’re desperate for running back help this time of year, look into someone like Rashaad Penny who has a fantastic matchup against the pathetic Falcons and should get a lot more touches.
