FANTASY FOOTBALL DEEP SLEEPERS TO TARGET IN 2019

14. Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB Miami Dolphins

Ryan Fitzpatrick is probably only an option in two-quarterback leagues but could be worth a late-round flier. Fitzpatrick or “Fitzmagic” as he became last year, had a pretty crazy season in 2018. It was up and down and all over the places, but when he started it was usually a good product.

Fitzpatrick had four 400+ yard games last season in just seven starts. That’s three more than the league MVP Patrick Mahomes. Now obviously he isn’t as good as Mahomes, but that just goes to show that you don’t have to be the known as a great player to put up great fantasy numbers.

He was actually tied for fourth amongst quarterbacks in points per game in 2018. So again, when he starts he produces. The downfall to Fitzpatrick this year is exactly the same as last year, he is going to be in a quarterback competition.

Fitzpatrick is the old guy who may actually be better for the team in the short-term, but this season as well as last he was in a quarterback competition with a guy who is seen as the face of each teams franchise in the years to come. He could have the exact same type of year as last year except with Josh Rosen stealing starts from him instead of Jameis Winston. So there is a risk with this pick, but if he does start you could be getting a top-five quarterback, as crazy as that sounds.
