Week 3 – Marquise Brown

The Baltimore Ravens came to Arrowhead Stadium in 2018 and made a strong case for being one of the better teams in the league. It even took some late-game Mahomes’ heroics and overtime to send them home with a loss. Thankfully, Kansas City was able to limit quarterback Lamar Jackson and the Ravens passing attack during that game.

This year could be different though. The Ravens will once again return to Arrowhead and look to hold their own as an AFC contender. This time, they’ll have the help of a speedy young receiver drafted in the first round of this year’s draft.

Marquise Brown became an All-American receiver during his time with the Oklahoma Sooners. The 5’9″ 170-pound receiver has the potential to outrun NFL defensive backs with his blazing fast speed. With Lamar Jackson’s ability to extend plays, Brown might be just the kind of player that can do damage to a defense.

Brown will certainly need some time to adjust to the pro game as having speed doesn’t always translate to NFL success. Thankfully, the Chiefs will be facing him earlier in the season, which isn’t much time for him and Lamar Jackson to have built a lot of chemistry together.

There are also some questions on whether Brown will be ready health-wise to start the season. No matter, the Chiefs defense will need to be ready for the speedy receiver and contain him from start to finish in Week 3.
