BEST CASE SCENARIO – THORNHILL BECOMES TURNOVER MACHINE

What stands out the most when it comes to Juan Thornhill’s stats at Virginia was his ability to force turnovers. As a whole, he totaled 13 interceptions during his career with six of those coming as a senior in 2018.

The Chiefs didn’t have much trouble forcing turnovers last year (they were tied for eighth in the league as far as takeaways go), but it should be noted that they will be losing a lot of their forced fumble production with the release of Justin Houston and the trading of Dee Ford.

The Chiefs were fourth in forced fumbles last year, so replacing that production, even in the form of interceptions, is important. Thornhill can provide that. At least that’s the hope.

Kansas City’s defense needs as many impact players as possible, so Thornhill making his presence known as a turnover machine during his rookie season would be the best case scenario. When a defense can create turnovers and give a prolific offense like KC’s an extra chance to see the field, everyone wins (except the other team, of course).
