RANKING EVERY FIRST ROUND PICK IN CHIEFS HISTORY

NUMBER 38 – WOODY GREEN

With the 16th overall pick in the 1974 NFL Draft, the KC Chiefs selected Woody Green out of Arizona State. Green was a burly running back at 6’0″ and over 200 pounds, but wouldn’t be in Kansas City very long. He totaled 1,442 yards and nine rushing touchdowns (two receiving) in three seasons and was out of the league after 1976.

NUMBER 37 – STEVE FULLER

The Kansas City Chiefs needed a quarterback in 1979, so in that year’s draft, they selected Steve Fuller out of Clemson with the 23rd overall pick. Fuller spent four years with the Chiefs and started 31 games. He threw for 5,333 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 32 interceptions. He finished the final three years of his career with the Bears and won a Super Bowl with them in 1985.

NUMBER 36 – SYLVESTER MORRIS

Jackson State isn’t exactly a college known for producing NFL talent, but Sylvester Morris wasn’t an average receiver. The Chiefs took him with the 21st overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft and Morris would go on to play just 15 games in the pros.

He totaled 48 receptions for 678 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie, which weren’t bad numbers at all. Unfortunately, that would be it for Morris in the NFL. Injuries eventually took their toll on him and he never played in another NFL game.

**Morris often falls in the bust category, which is a shame. He had talent, but injuries took their toll on him. Fuller won a Super Bowl, albeit with another team and Green had decent numbers but wasn’t long for the NFL.**
