Any insight into the Wildcats pursuit of North Texas coach Seth Littrell?

Honestly, there’s really nothing new to share that hasn’t been said or isn’t out there at this point. He had multiple interviews with K-State, openly admitted he was a candidate and was the first (only?) person K-State didn’t hire to openly pull out of the race shortly before Chris Klieman was ultimately announced as the head coach.

Both sides has sincere interest, but not enough to get a deal done (or for K-State to feel better about going with him than Klieman, who so far feels like the right call to me).

How serious candidate were Jim Leavitt (ex-Oregon DC) and Troy Brown(ex-Troy, current WVU head coach)?

Jim Leavitt was never a candidate for the job and has since been relieved of his duties as Oregon’s defensive coordinator, something we reported was going to happen to Leavitt during the search. Troy Brown absolutely was, however, and probably ended this deal as the No. 2 behind Klieman. Will be fascinating to watch him at WVU.

Visible changes between new and old staff?

Oh man, I don’t even know where to start. I think, to keep it brief, the biggest difference is they’re going to allow constant access to all coaches in the program, not just the head coach. There will be no “one voice” or trying to control any message that gets to fans and media. The idea of sharing information with their fan base (through traditional media or social media) is seen as an advantage, not a task.
