We all remember this game.

It was the back and forth offensive output by both teams and many thought this would be the direction the NFL was headed in. After all, defense did appear to be optional for some teams this year.

Mahomes put up insane numbers in this game.

The final stat line for Mahomes on this Monday Night Football game was 33 of 46 for 478 yards, six touchdowns and three picks. The numbers were record breaking and were it not for this prolific performance from the Chiefs quarterback, the Rams would have run away with it by half time.

In fact, LA had a double digit lead twice, but Mahomes brought the Chiefs right back. Yes, he accounted for five turnovers and that’s never a good thing, but if Mahomes wasn’t doing Mahomes-like things in this one, LA would have won it in blowout fashion.

This game was the NFL version of Mahomes’ loss to Oklahoma during his junior campaign at Texas Tech. Unfortunately, he was once again on the wrong side of the outcome.
