NUMBER 7 – WEEK 1 AT LOS ANGELES CHARGERS

There was a lot of uncertainty heading into the 2018 season. Any time a team has a new quarterback running the offense, there’s reason to wonder what the team will look like.

Mahomes might have started a game in 2017, but that was different. He wasn’t the starter. In 2018, it was his team. If he went out there in week one and played terribly, fans would immediately panic about handing the keys to him.

Fortunately, Mahomes was spectacular against the Chargers in week one, throwing for 256 yards and four touchdowns. It sure helped Chiefs fans that might have been on the fence about him help believe he’s the long-term solution at the most important position in the sport.

The Chiefs went on to win by ten points and the fan base was feeling pretty good about having Patrick Mahomes under center. A lot of people probably forgot about this game, but it was a hell of a season debut for the gunslinger.
