ROUND 2 – PICK 32 (64TH OVERALL)

Much like corner is a big time need for the Chiefs, safety is absolutely an area of concern this offseason. Eric Berry barely played last year, Ron Parker was so bad he got waived, and while Jordan Lucas showed promise, the position as a whole needs help.

That’s why the Chiefs go with Juan Thornhill with their second selection in round two.

When looking at Thornhill’s stats from his senior campaign in 2018, the biggest thing that stands out is the amount of tackles this kid compiled. He had 98 total tackles with 62 of them being solo efforts. The Chiefs need a player like Thornhill because tackling was optional for their defense this past season.

Thornhill also had six interceptions for the Cavaliers as a senior, which is another impressive stat on his resumé. The Chiefs need a tackling machine and someone who can force a turnover. That makes Juan Thornhill a very intriguing option at safety.

The question is… Will he fall to them at this pick? That might not be realistic.
