CHIEFS TO MOVE ON FROM – CHRIS CONLEY (WIDE RECEIVER)

Selected in the third round of the 2015 draft, Chris Conley was a player that had Chiefs fans really excited to see what he could bring to the table. At that time, the Chiefs were coming off a season in which not one single wide receiver had caught a touchdown pass.

Yeah, remember that?

Fast forward to now and Conley has been somewhat underwhelming in his four year career. His 2016 season saw his career highs in receptions (44), yards (530), and up until this last season, he had only been in the end zone one time during the regular season.

With Mahomes pulling the trigger, however, Conley scored five touchdowns this past season and had the best game of his career on Monday Night Football in Los Angeles.

The Chiefs are pretty loaded at receiver and DeMarcus Robinson is still under contract for another season. I just don’t see a scenario in which Conley is re-signed, considering the Chiefs can continue to pluck young pass catchers late in this coming draft.
