SIT ‘EM – QB

Up until last season, Alex Smith was always a solid backup quarterback option when it came to fantasy football. He’s on that path again this season with very “meh” games under his belt in his inaugural season in D.C.

Smith has yet to post 20 points in any of his games this season and the most he totaled was 19.6 in week one against what we’ve learned is a not so good Cardinals team. Don’t expect Smith to do a ton of damage against a Cowboys defense that has been fairly tough on quarterbacks so far.

Per Fantasy Pros,

"Smith, who completed more than 65 percent of his passes in each of the last four seasons, finished each of the last two games with a completion rate below 60. That’s hard to do in a league where 28 quarterbacks hold a mark above 61.0."

Fantasy Pros mentions that playing Smith isn’t a good idea unless you’re in a league where you have two starting quarterbacks. They also mention if Chris Thompson and Jamison Crowder are out again, then Smith is really a tough play this week.

Keep Alex Smith on the bench.
