FIVE THINGS TO WATCH VS WISCONSIN

NUMBER 2 – CLEAN UP SPECIAL TEAMS AND TURNOVERS

For anyone who has watched this team from the first week, it’s been clear that special teams isn’t so special. The return team has struggled with penalties, Barret Pickering hasn’t been clutch at converting field goals, and it’s just been an overall gross effort from the Husker special teams.

Game after game, this unit makes some kind of costly mistake and it’s becoming an uncomfortable trend. In games like the one this weekend, there is no room for error. Nebraska is already a 17.5 point underdog so if their special teams screws up again, that could be it for the Cornhuskers in this game.

Turnovers have also plagued Nebraska in this young season. Not only that, but their defense has failed to get takeaways of their own, which isn’t helping the situation.

Losing the turnover battle normally means that team is going to lose the game. Nebraska has seen that prove to be true, as they’ve yet to win the turnover battle and have also yet to win a game. Hmm. Imagine that.
