FIVE THINGS TO WATCH VS PURDUE

NUMBER 1 – PUT UP A FIGHT PLEASE!

In my five things edition last week, I said I didn’t expect Nebraska to beat Michigan. What I wanted to see was for the Cornhuskers to put up a fight, which they didn’t do.

On Saturday, I was flipping back and forth between the Nebraska/Michigan game and the Missouri/Georgia game and was on the MU/UGA game for just a few minutes. During that span, there were two updates shown on the Nebraska game and both times were long touchdown runs by Wolverine running backs.

My point being that the Huskers were out of that game before they could even blink. Purdue isn’t as talented as Michigan, so if Nebraska gets knocked around early, then this could be an even longer season than we all expected.

Nebraska needs to put up points, hold onto the football, make stops, and keep fighting. The fact that the team has looked worse as the weeks go by isn’t promising, but this game against Purdue is certainly a winnable one.
