A-. . . . RUNNING GAME

The Missouri run game was phenomenal against the Bulldogs. They totaled 172 yards off of 37 carries and had four touchdowns on the ground. While no rusher went for more than 67 yards, they continued to put pressure on the Georgia defensive line.

Damarea Crockett led the team in rushing with 67 yards (as noted above) and had a touchdown. Tyler Badie had 50 yards rushing and a touchdown, Larry Rountree III, who set the world on fire last week, had just 33 yards and a touchdown. Lastly, Lock added 22 yards off of five carries and found the end zone once.

Everyone got involved in the run game against Georgia, but it wasn’t enough to push this team past the Bulldogs. Had the Tigers not fallen behind by 13 points early on, they might have been able to run the ball more.

C. . . . RECEIVERS/TIGHT ENDS

If I’m giving Lock a C, then his receivers and tight ends deserve a C as well. Aside from Albert Okwuegbunam, the rest of the receivers and tight ends looked less than stellar. Albert O hauled in nine receptions for 81 yards while Jonathon Johnson had just 51 yards off four receptions.

Emanuel Hall was banged up and didn’t play, which definitely hurt this unit. Jalen Knox didn’t follow up his previously impressive performance in West Lafayette, not recording a single reception.

Without true threats to throw to, Drew Lock is going to have games like this against the tougher teams. Hall not being out there hurt the Tigers big time, but it can’t result in the rest of the unit not pulling their weight. One receiver shouldn’t make that big of a difference.

If Okwuegbunam could have done it all on Saturday, maybe this game has a different outcome. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
