Fantasy Football: 2018 Week 2 Waiver Wire Wednesday
San Francisco 49ers Wide Receiver Dante Pettis
Following the massive contract that the San Francisco 49ers gave quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo this offseason, they spent little money surrounding him with playmakers on the offensive side of the ball. The only true addition was running back Jerrick McKinnon who is out for the season.
Most of the offseason was spent bolstering the offensive line and the defense. Which means that Garoppolo is limited in talent to throw the ball to in 2018. Marquise Goodwin went down with an injury during the Week 1 performance, and the player that stepped up in his absence was Pettis.
During his Week 1 game against the Minnesota Vikings, one of the best defenses in the league, Pettis took five catches for 61 yards and a touchdown on Sunday. Pettis is a player that I would strongly recommend in this waiver wire as he could explode into a starting wide receiver in many leagues as the season progresses. Especially if Goodwin spends any time out.
