Denver Broncos Running Back Phillip Lindsay

All eyes were on rookie Royce Freeman as the running back to take out of Denver this preseason. However, Phillip Lindsay was just as effective in the Broncos offense on Sunday when they came out with a win over the Seattle Seahawks.

Both Freeman and Lindsay saw the same amount of carries with 17 in Week 1. Lindsay was also targeted three times in the passing game catching two for 31 yards and a touchdown. Adding that to his 71 rushing yards, he came away with 102 all-purpose yards on Sunday.

Lindsay is a more versatile back than Freeman in my opinion and should see significant playing time going forward. While everyone was high on Freeman going into their drafts, Lindsay might be a viable option in this week’s waiver wire as a solid running back in deeper leagues or FLEX option.
