Los Angeles Chargers Running Back Austin Ekeler

It’s clear that Austin Ekeler is the running back that the Chargers will deploy alongside Melvin Gordon. Los Angeles has the potential to have one of the most dynamic pass-catching running back duo in the league if Ekeler continues to produce.

During the Week 1 loss against the Kansas City Chiefs, Ekeler ran the ball for 39 yards while grabbing another 87 through the air and a touchdown. That was all done on only ten touches. Most of his yards in the passing game came in the final quarter when the Chargers were playing major catch up.

Kansas City played prevent defense allowing passes over the middle in the fourth quarter to keep the ball in front of the defense and keep the clock running. I don’t see Ekeler having this type of performance on a weekly basis, especially with the touchdown, but he could prove to be a suitable FLEX option for deeper leagues.
