GOOD: PATRICK MAHOMES

I think most Chiefs fans, even ones who don’t really follow the team all that closely, had their eyes glued to the TV to see Patrick Mahomes in action for the first time in 2018. The kid didn’t disappoint, looking absolutely electric in the Chiefs season opener.

He went 15 of 27 for 256 yards and four touchdowns with zero interceptions and was only sacked once. Mahomes had about as good of a day as a quarterback could have, especially for this only being the second start of his NFL career.

Chiefs fans expected Mahomes to be good, but I doubt anybody saw this type of performance coming so early on. Obviously it’s a small sample size and the former first round pick is going to make mistakes, but hey… This is all we can go off of right now, so it’s okay to be excited!

Mahomes didn’t throw a touchdown pass in his NFL debut and he threw FOUR of them on Sunday!  He really couldn’t have played any better and Chiefs fans should be giddy after that performance.

It’ll be interesting to see how Mahomes plays against the Steelers next week. That’s a team that has had KC’s number and Alex Smith rarely played well against them while in a Chiefs uniform. If Mahomes can crack that code, then Chiefs Kingdom might go ahead and build him a statue to put out in front of Arrowhead Stadium.
