FIVE THINGS TO WATCH VS WYOMING COWBOYS

NUMBER 4 – STOP NICO EVANS

When it comes to the Wyoming offense, there’s one name that could give the Tigers problems this weekend. That guy is Nico Evans, a running back for the Cowboys.

In Wyoming’s season opener against New Mexico State, Evans carried the rock 24 times and rushed for 190 yards with two touchdowns. His follow-up performance wasn’t as electric, but he still took the ball for 18 carries, 89 yards, and a touchdown.

Missouri did a nice job at stopping the run in week one, limiting the Skyhawks to just 94 yards on the ground. The leading rusher for Tennessee-Martin only had 31 yards rushing.

Wyoming’s offense hasn’t been cruising in their two games so far, but Nico Evans could be a problem if he gets hot. He’s never been a serious weapon for the Cowboys in years past, already amassing a career number in rushing yards just two games into the season. This year he has the keys to the car on offense though and is the only real menacing player thus far at Wyoming.

If Mizzou can limit Evans from having a big day, then the Tigers should be able to handle the rest of the Cowboys’ offense.
