Week 1 – Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers (Chris)

The Los Angeles Chargers have had a rough time when it comes to beating the Kansas City Chiefs. For four straight seasons, the Chiefs have reigned supreme against their AFC West division foe.

It doesn’t appear to matter how good either team is, the Chiefs have dominated. There is no other way to put it.

Some may want to wipe the slate clean here, since Alex Smith led the Chiefs to those eight straight wins against the Chargers. Patrick Mahomes is 0-0 against every team in the NFL but Denver.

The Chargers must practice on concrete. It has been another season filled with injuries. Their best corner Jason Verrett and tight end Hunter Henry will both miss the season before it ever started. New players, new coordinators, same story.

Prediction: The winning continues with Patrick Mahomes at the helm. How anyone could pick the Chargers here is beyond me, let alone the many that have picked Los Angeles to win the West. Chiefs start the Mahomes era with a win, 37-24.

Standout Player: Kendall Fuller will get his chance to give Rivers nightmares. Fuller causes him fits all game, eventually grabbing a pick-six to put the game away.

RECORD: 1-0
