FANTASY FOOTBALL SLEEPERS TO TARGET: NUMBER 10 – MIKE WILLIAMS

There might not have been a more disappointing first round draft pick last year than Mike Williams, who the Chargers took seventh overall. Williams went on to have just 11 receptions for 95 yards as a rookie, hardly the numbers fantasy owners expected out of the former Clemson standout.

Year two will be crucial for Williams to step up and the good news now is that owners will not be reaching on him. He’ll likely be available until late in the draft and could end up becoming a major part of the Charger’s offensive game plan this year.

This is a guy who, when healthy (which he wasn’t for the beginning of last year), can go up and get the football. He had over 1,300 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior in 2016, so the talent is absolutely there. Williams just has to be healthy and get opportunities.

Williams will be competing with Keenan Allen, Tyrell Williams, and Antonio Gates for targets, but year two should prove much kinder to him than his rookie year did. That’s the hope for fantasy owners at least.
